Singapore HCI VR Research Workshop
Assoc Professor Scott BATEMAN from University of New Brunswick will be visiting Singapore in mid December. He leads the Spectral computing lab, a leader in spatial and mixed reality computing research. He will be delivering a two-day hands-on VR research workshop for researchers. In it, you will learn how to build new innovative interaction techniques, and how to evaluate these from an HCI perspective.
Tentatively, the dates of the workshop are Thursday, 14 Dec 2023 and Monday, 18 Dec 2023. These will be held in person at SMU.The plan is to run this as a mini-hackathon, where you work in a small team to develop an idea to be scoped in such a way that it can be realized in VR, and then studied.
This workshop is open to anyone, though is best suited to those that: (1) are or are considering pursuing graduate studies in CS; (2) have a background in programming, and (3) have an interest in HCI research.
If you have additional questions, please ping Tony TANG.
Please submit your interest in participating by end of day 1 Dec 2023.
